Monarch Caterpillars at Indiana Dunes

At this time of year, monarch caterpillars can be found munching on the milkweed in northwest Indiana. They can be distinguished by their black, white, and yellow stripes and antennae on both ends of their bodies to trick predators (the longer antennae are the ones near the head). This one was found at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
