Dogwood Sawfly Caterpillars in Duneland

Dogwood sawfly caterpillars are all over the red stem dogwood in Porter! These larvae can do serious damage to dogwood, and there are often plenty eating off of a single plant. The caterpillars are powdery white with orange legs and dark heads. This larva was found on the Prairie Duneland Bicycle Trail, along with many others!
